DENTON, TX. - The seventh-ranked Nova Southeastern Sharks Women's Golf team completed play at their first tournament of the 2024-25 season on Tuesday. NSU placed eighth (+16/290/303/287), shooting the team's lowest round of the tournament in the final round. Maria Torres-Lobato (T3/-5/74/71/66) jumped 13 spots up the leader board on Tuesday and shot the lowest round of the tournament by an individual in the field of 71.

Maria Torres-Lobato got off to a torrid start in the final round of the DBU Classic, as she recorded a birdie on each of the first four holes. Torres-Lobato closed the front-nine with four pars and added a fifth birdie on 17, heading into the turn with a 31. Following the turn, Torres-Lobato parred the first five holes on the back-nine before adding two more birdies to her ledger. She finished the final round with a 66, moving 13 spots up the leader board, and recorded the lowest individual score in a round during the tournament.

Haruka Muta (16th/+2/71/78/69) moved 19 spots up the leader board, after tallying her best round of the DBU Classic. Muta parred eight holes across the front-nine and after the turn, totaled five birdies and three pars across the back-nine, finishing the day three-under.
